River Edge Ideas Lab

River Edge Ideas Lab is a collaborative effort led by the City of Chicago and Metropolitan Planning Council (MPC) to gather ideas and input on the future of the Chicago River. The Ideas Lab uses both a physical exhibition and a website to present nine different visions from world-famous architects.

I worked with the City and MPC throughout the project on a number of aspects of the Ideas Lab, from exhibit design and print materials to video. I produced videos that briefly explain each firm's vision by combining interviews with visuals. I shot the interviews here in Chicago, and Johnny Sousa helped me out by filming two interviews in NYC. WSP contributed aerial footage and images that provided "as-is" views to contrast with the architects' renderings.

I worked with Ryan Gann of Ross-Barney Architects to develop the visual identity of the Ideas Lab, including design guidelines for the exhibit boards. I also designed print materials to advertise the Ideas Lab and exhibition. Webitects created the outstanding website that brings everything together in one place.
