Ribbons for potholes

In a segment about our nation's decaying infrastructure, John Oliver pointed out that nobody gets excited about maintenance because you can't have a ribbon cutting ceremony. We set out to see if we could change that.

We love to celebrate the construction of new roads, bridges and rails, but how can we remind ourselves of the everyday importance of maintaining what we already have? We added some cake and ribbons to the task of filling potholes to find out.
